Jamie Peeler Osteen (Owner, Director and Instructor)
Jamie Peeler Osteen has spent most of her life either performing, teaching, coaching or choreographing dance and cheer. Dancing since the age of 5, Jamie has trained in all forms of dance including Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Ballet, Acrobatics, Gymnastics, Pointe and Musical Theater. A native of Hendersonville, NC, Jamie spent her early years, competing and performing in the area in both cheer and dance. At age 18, Jamie auditioned and was chosen as one of eight dancer from her studio to dance in the movie Dirty Dancing. She was featured as both a dancer and an extra.
Jamie is a 1994 graduate of UNC-Asheville with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama. While in college, Jamie continued her dance education taking dance classes, attending workshops and conventions. She was a cheerleader all four years and founded the UNCA Dance Team her senior year. She continued on as coach of both the Dance Team and Cheerleaders for 22 years before leaving to focus on her new dance studio.
After graduating from college, Jamie continued her dance training under some of the best known choreographers in the business including Napoleon & Tabitha D’umo, Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Tyce Diorio, Mandy Moore, Dave Scott, Denise Wall, Twitch and Nick Bass. She continues to update her skills and attends conventions and workshops every year. Jamie is also a certified member of Dance Master of America and Carolina Dance Masters Chapter 15. She has been tested and certified in cheerleading safety though NCA and AACCA.
After teaching and coaching in the business for almost 30 year, Jamie, along with her business partner, opened Releve Performing Arts Center in the fall of 2010. Since then, Releve has more than doubled in size and has become known in the area as the place to go for not only the best dance education, but also the most loving & supporting dance family as well. Jamie has made a name for herself in the business for being a very creative and innovative choreographer and was also named “Choreographer of the Year” at Nationals for Kids Artistic Revue in 2012. Her students have won numerous high point, overall and special awards including “Most Entertaining”, “Crowd Pleaser“, and “Highest Score of the Day”. Several of her routines have gone on to win national championships including her last Production “Jurassic Park” which won the top overall production at Nationals! Jamie currently has students working in the business in television, film, at Disneyland, Universal studios and as professional dancers. She also has several students who are continuing their dance/acting education in college, dancing on numerous college dance teams and studying dance at the NC School for the Arts. She continues to teach master classes, workshops and camps and is a highly sought after judge for cheer/dance tryouts, auditions and competitions.
Jamie’s own personal reward is being able to share her love for dance with her students and inspiring them to be the best they can be. Dance has been a major part of her life from a very early age and she is very excited to continue with her passion in this phase of her dance career. Jamie has been married to her husband, Tony, for 20 yrs and is the proud mother of two wonderful sons, Hunter and Nolan.
Kristen Morgan began her dance training at the age of 3. She studied all forms of dance, including Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Clogging, Acrobatics, and Hip Hop. Kristen was a competitive dancer for over 10 years and was a member of Starz Artistic Performing Company, winning back to back National Grand Champions at Star Systems National Dance Competition in 2005-2006 and 2006-2007. She was also chosen to be on the Traveling Starz team and worked with Dee Caspary, a choreographer featured on So You Think You Can Dance. In 2010 Kristen competed and won the title of Miss Hendersonville as well as the swimsuit, talent, interview and Congeniality award. She then went on to compete in the Miss North Carolina Scholarships Pageant.
Kristen is a graduate of East Carolina University where she double majored in English and Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism. She was an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha as well as the ECU Club Dance Team. Alongside Miss Jamie, Kristen was the co-choreographer for their competitive hip hop team. Kristen helped lead her team to win the 2012 All-Star Collegiate National Championship.

Jessica Adams-Hodgins (Assistant Director and Instructor)
Jessica Hodgins is a California native who started dancing at the age of four. She was a national award winning competitive jazz, lyrical and ballet dancer when at 9 she decided to focus on classical ballet training and began taking classes at Riverside Ballet Arts. With the mentorship of David Allan,Glenda Carhart, Kathleen Riker, and Michelle Jenkins as well as training with the School of American Ballet, San Francisco Ballet School,and Miami City Ballet School, she was accepted as one of only three female scholarship students to the Miami City Ballet School Pre-professional Program. While attending the school Jessica was taught and coached extensively by Truman Finney, Geta Constantinescu and director of Miami City Ballet and renowned American ballet dancer Edward Villela as well as famous ballerinas Nancy Raffa, Suzanne Farrell and Violette Verdy. While in Miami she was personally selected by Edward Villela to work and tour with the company and train in instructing dance under an established teacher in the Miami City Ballet Schools Children’s Division and appeared in commercial advertisement for Canadian television. After Graduating from Miami City Ballet School’s Pre- Professional Program and touring with the Miami City Ballet, Jessica then moved on to dance with the Colorado Ballet, where she met and fell in love with her husband Bennett Hodgins.
After returning to California to pursue her career in choreography and teaching, Jessica joined the staff of Riverside Ballet Arts, as well as teaching for numerous dance studios and conservatories in the Inland Empire, danced with the contemporary modern company Intersect Dance Theatre, California Riverside Ballet and BRAVA in soloist and principal roles, later becoming “Ballet Mistress” of BRAVA in 2012. In the summer of 2013, Jessica taught modern dance, choreography and dance composition at the California State Summer School of the Arts at California Institute of the Arts. Jessica has had the joy of performing in many classical and contemporary ballet’s including roles as “Cinderella” in David Allan’s Cinderella, “Odette” in Swan Lake, “Clara”,”Arabian”, “Snow Queen” and “Sugar Plum Fairy” in David Allan’s The Nutcracker,and in Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Le Corsaire and La Sylphide, as well as performing in Balanchine’s Who Cares, Concerto Borocco, and Symphony in C, Clinton Rothwell’s Concerto in G, and Pathos, Septime Webber’sWhere the Wild Things Are, and Michael Pink’s Dracula, among many others. Since returning to Southern California she has choreographed multiple modern, contemporary and ballet works throughout the Inland Empire such as Art Vulups “Just Breathe”, “A Flowering Tree” for Riverside Lyric Opera, “Ghost’s of Yesterday”, “Ditching Degas”, “Esther” and “Growing Down” at BRAVA, “Sous Le Voile” and “Male” for Riverside City College and multiple untitled works for monthly productions of the City Of Riverside’s “Art Walk”.
Katie Holbert (Instructor)
Katie is a native of Hendersonville and began her training at Merle’s Dance Place at the age of 2. While at Merles, she trained in all forms of dance including ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, tap, hip-hop, modern, and musical theatre and competed in various levels of the competitive company. In both 2007 and 2008, she had the opportunity to travel on scholarship with Dance Masters of America to Buffalo, NY and participate in their S.H.I.P dance intensive.
In 2009, Katie was Hendersonville’s Outstanding Teen and went on to compete at the Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding T
een Pageant. There she won the preliminary award for “Best Fitness” among 40 other contestants. During her reign, she completed multiple hours of community service and worked closely with The Four Seasons Rotary Club, The American Heart Association, and Hendersonville’s United Way.
Katie continued her dance education at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC from 2010-2014 as a Principal in the pre-professional company, Dance Converse. During her junior year, she lived in New York City and completed two marketing and dance internships with The Brooklyn Ballet and Dance New Amsterdam. Her duties included hosting and working Joffrey Ballet’s summer intensives, choreographing for a series of dance performances on Wall Street, and taking class at both Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. Katie also traveled to Costa Rica while at Converse, and studied the benefits of eco-tourism and how it directly impacts and funds the country’s economy.
To accompany her training, Katie has also taught musical theatre tap, jazz, modern, and hip-hop at a number of dance studies in the southeast including Lawson Academy, Arts Academy of the Carolinas, Dance Dynamics – Pickens, Dance Dynamics – Tryon, and The Flat Rock Playhouse.
Katie is excited to be on staff at Releve Performing Arts, and looks forward to meeting her new students every year!
Cindy Fikes (Office Manager)
Cindy joined the Releve staff last fall (2015) as an assistant in the office. We are very excited that she will be taking over as Office Manager this fall. She is married to her husband, Jason, and has two beautiful children.
